Gemini Season!

November 2, 2018bySidney Mireles0

IIDM’s most recent Gemini Program graduates deployed in October as Sales Engineers in Houston, Oklahoma City and Chicago. Previous Gemini grads also are serving as Sales and Field Application Engineers in Dallas, Chicago and Austin branches.

The success of those engineering graduates combined with a healthy business outlook led IIDM to go full-ahead on recruiting the next class of high potential college grads.

The plan is to have at least 10 additional employees in the Gemini program by June 2019 or earlier.

Innovative recruiting teams fanned into engineering career fairs in September: Texas A&M University, Purdue University, Texas Tech University, University of Oklahoma and University of Wisconsin. The Goal? Find the brightest and most socially adapted candidates for Sales Engineer, Field Application Engineer and Design Engineer positions.

Interviewers talked with 100’s of students, conducted more than 60 on-campus interviews and created what ultimately became a list of about 25 candidates headed to HQ for more face-to-face and culture interviews; most full-time, a few for internships. More than 100 individual interview slots were filled during the four days in late September. Approximately the top 15 percent of campus interviews were extended offers.

“It was exciting to interview so many talented engineering students, both on campus and here in Dallas,” said IIDM president Gene Gray. “We are especially thankful to those who carved into their busy school and social schedules to meet with the people at HQ. We’re honored that they took the time to come and we look forward to working with many of them after they graduate.”
